There's no question that music can be just as important to a film as the camera. Without it, the magic of cinema is not possible. Imagine Star Wars without John Williams. Think of Jaws without those two notes. Would Psycho be the classic it is without Bernard Herrmann's haunting score? I was watching There Will be Blood the other day and it had me thinking. This film has very limited music. However, when the original score (by Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood) comes into play during the closing credits, I realized that if the film had ended in silence, it would have suffered significantly. So I thought about this idea for a top ten list. I think it's a great topic for discussion! Here are my top ten original scores of the decade (with runner-ups). Enjoy!
